"Victoria" Crystal Quilt Pattern
"Victoria" is a Crystal Quilt design, modified to simplify its construction and put greater emphasis on the central focal point.
The pattern is for the complete quilt, exclusive of borders, and it does not include seam allowances. Add seam allowances to all patches and borders.
"Victoria 1" (red, green and yellow) was pieced with regular seaming including the technique called Inset Angle Piecing. Cut and add borders as you like. The original "Victoria I" contained a line of Perfect Piping 1/8" wide, a second line of Perfect Piping 1/4" wide, a plain border 2 1/4" wide with contrasting binding 1/2" wide (all finished measurements).
"Victoria 2" (pink and rust),beautifully executed in silk fabrics with Swarovski crystal embellishment, is extra special because of its lack of unnecessary seam lines. The V shapes and the border were cut as one piece of fabric, with the silk borders rolled over the backing to finish the quilt. Reverse appliqué was used to make the quilt top.
Find some special embellishment to enhance the central focal point. Make the center of your quilt more important by thoughtful quilting and perhaps some beading or other decorative additions.
